Soil, the basic input for agriculture is considered as a living entity. The various micro and macro organisms add live to the soil by their presence and activities. The beneficial microorganisms, particularly the bacterial and fungal groups are responsible for increasing nutrient availability to crops. They also help the crop plants by suppressing plant pathogens in the soil by antibiosis and competition.

Unfortunately due to the excessive usage of toxic chemicals such as pesticides,fungicides, weedicides etc., the populations of these beneficial microorganisms are very much affected resulting in poor soil fertility. So it becomes important to introduce these beneficial microorganisms in the soil to rejuvenate the soil system. The beneficial microorganisms include nitrogen fixer, phosphorous solubilizer, plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria, Biocontrol bacteria and fungi.

These beneficial microbes upon soil application multiply in multifold and do the job of nitrogen fixation, phosphorous solubilization, growth regulator secretion and crop protection. This ultimately results in improved soil fertility and crop yield.
