Trichoderma viride is a fungus which colonizes readily near the plant roots (Rhizosphere) and grows on roots. Trichoderma attack, parasitize and kill pathogenic fungi such as Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium that cause root rot, stem rot, seed rot, fruit rot and wilt diseases. It coils about them and degrade the cell wall of the pathogenic fungi by secretion of different enzyme. This process (mycoparasitisms) limits growth and activity of plant pathogenic fungi.

Trichoderma by inducing systemic resistance (ISR) protects plant root from pathogens and permits a stronger healthier root system by suppressing pathogenic fungi that causes root rot, stem rot, seed rot and fruit rot.

Trichoderma significantly reduce the need for chemical fungicide to control fungal root diseases. It enhances the root system which improves nutrient and moisture uptake and improves tolerance to stressful growing conditions. Since the product is living it will continue to multiply after application while inside the soil.

Dosage and Method of Application

3 lit of Trichoderma is mixed with 3 tons of compost or farm yard manure and incubated for 2 days and applied in one acre before sowing or planting.

(b). Second application: (30 – 45 days after sowing or planting) 3 liter is diluted in 200 liters of water and sprayed around the root zone of the crops. (Per acre)
